The good news this week started on Tuesday when I ran one of my best track meets ever. It started with an 800 relay which I feel I ran well in. Later on I finished second in the regular 800 meter event. After that I placed FIRST in the 2-mile race, my most difficult event! I felt wonderful after the meet which kept me in a positive mood throughout the rest of the week.
Another reason to raise excitement is the field trip to Washington DC this Friday. The trip is for students in French classes, which includes a good amount of my friends. I went to DC a few times before in my life, trips which contained memorable experiences. I remember meeting many pigeons, riding the subway, and meeting a police horse. War memorials, Washington Monument, and Lincoln Memorial are obviously included as well. The gorgeous cherry blosson trees should be blooming during the visit. I plan to take pictures of them (along with other notable sights encountered on the trip). I will probably post a sample of my best pictures here.
Currently: 1-2 days until D.C . trip, a week and a half until spring play, and approximately a little over 2 weeks until the band trip to Boston! I can’t wait for any of these events!
P.S. The long bus ride gives me an excellent opportunity to finish writing my play. Look forward to more chapter releases soon.
It snowed on Thursday. In the middle of March. WHY? In my opinion, the snow is absolutely gorgeous in December while anticipating Christmas’s arrival. However, I do not appreciate it in the middle of March. Thank goodness it disappeared before the weekend or else I would become very upset.
So far I’m having a good time. Track, spring play, and weekends with my horses keep me busy enough. Currently I can balance my time between track and play very well. The only hectic moments will be days with track meets and the play practices before the performance in April. This year everything seems to be occurring in April. I have a one-day field trip to D.C., spring play, the band trip to Boston, and assorted track meets thrown in the mix. After that, finally, I can slow down to enjoy myself over the Easter break. After Easter my mind will concentrate on the rest of the track season until the desperately needed summer break begins! See? I’m not complaining about school one bit.
While absolutely everything seems to be occurring in my life I still prioritize work on Another Worthless Play. I have not posted any more scenes on this site because I decided to elaborate upon some of the earlier scenes. Right now I consider releasing the second scene after I finish this post. Since I am typing this during a fragment of free time in computer class it depends upon how much time I have left after writing this. I can promise that the play looks spectacular. I am currently working on the second act. Who knows? Maybe it will turn out to be my best piece of literature yet! I’ll just have to keep working on it and see.
As mentioned before in this post, I will travel with the marching band for a spring trip. I absolutely CANNOT wait to go. Along with the main attractions in Boston I will see Salem, Mass. and the historical sites related to the witch trials. While there I plan on taking countless pictures. The location may also inspire the creation of a few new spooky, dark stories! The concept sounds extremely interesting. Upon my return I plan to post a few of my best pictures here and document my adventures during the trip. Until then I’ll be busy surviving the other adventures this spring.
It’s official: I cannot wait for the snow to disappear and for spring to begin! Last weekend I enjoyed spending time with the horses and riding Adam in the wonderful ‘half-winter-half-spring’ weather. Then a few days later…and school is canceled because of snow! I would take some time to complain about the sudden change in weather but instead I will express my excitement for the exciting events coming up soon.
First off is…track! Yes, I decided to run for another season this spring! Last year was pretty fun so I figured I might as well continue this year. I have more friends on the team this year which is another good thing. I started staying after school for conditioning last week. Surprisingly I enjoy it and am thankful that I exercised on the treadmill and ran regularly since last season. This will probably be my last year for track, however, so I can concentrate more on spring play during my junior and senior high school years.
This year’s spring play is Father of the Bride. So far it sounds like most people enjoy the choice. I have a feeling the play will go very well and the wedding scene will be so pretty! I’m extremely grateful that I am allowed to balance my time this spring between play AND track. I did it last year with few major issues so hopefully all will go well this year. :)
During my spare time I am also working diligently on my second stage play. Currently I am on the first scene of Act II after intermission. The play looks thrilling so far and I cannot wait to complete the first draft! Hopefully I’ll have it finished near the middle of March. Then I can concentrate on editing it at any convenient time such as backstage, before track practice, or during the bus ride to Boston for the band trip. I’m bursting with excitement for the trip as well! I’m rooming with three awesome friends who are EXTREMELY fun to hang out with. We’ll have a blast touring around Boston, marching in the parade, swimming in the hotel swimming pool, walking around Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, and spending time in Salem. (yes, we’re going there too!) The trip will take place in the month of April…just like spring play, Easter, and track practice. :) That will be one busy month for me!
P.S. Expect another Shadow Realm to be completed soon.
